It would be an honor and a privilege to join the National Marine Sanctuary programs. Our legacy is to protect the coast we live on and our ancestors have lived forever. No matter what happens in the next few weeks we are committed to fighting to protect the coast from more oil drilling, fracking and address the decommissioning of Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. The plant was built on my ancestors graves, I feel the ancestors have held us safe, but seeing the end of the nuclear plant in my life time is reassuring. However, there is still danger with the long term storage of nuclear materials, earthquake activity and global climate change. There is so much work to be done.
